Axis offers products and services for video surveillance, access systems, sound systems and video analysis. They have around 3,000 employees in 50 countries and work with partners all over the world to deliver customised solutions. At the Linköping office, for which Axis has chosen HiQ as sole supplier, the focus will be on software development.
“This is a major opportunity for us to do what we are best at: making things easier for people with the help of technology, design and communication. We are experts at teamwork, and this will be the key to successful collaboration this time as well,” says Patrik Holm at HiQ in Linköping.
HiQ will act as an establishment partner, taking care of the management functions, with consultants on site to help Axis with recruitment. Initially there will be some 20 people in the Linköping office, with this number expected to grow to around 100 in just a couple of years.
In 2017, sales at Axis topped SEK 8.6 billion, of which 18 percent was invested in research and development. More than 1,000 people work at the head office in Lund with research and development of new products and solutions in areas such as network video, access systems, sound systems and video analysis.
“We see great value in setting up in Linköping where there is a combination of a good university and a well-functioning business community. That will help us to find people with the right skills and to run a successful development company,” says Kenneth Jonsson, Vice President of R&D at Axis Communications.
Recruitment has already begun with the first employees due to be in place by the end of May. The recruitment process will then continue on a gradual basis.
