HiQ strengthens its position as a leading partner in the financial industry

As Fennia’s partner, HiQ streamlines and implements procedures for quality assurance and testing in the Finnish insurance company. With this assignment HiQ strengthens its position as the leading IT partner within the financial segment.

"Fennia offers extensive, cost-efficient and high-quality insurance services to our customers. The quality also needs to show in our work tools and procedures. Therefore testing plays a central part in reaching this goal. We wanted a partner with whom we can implement coherent models throughout the organisation, and thereby streamline our operations. HiQ convinced us with their expertise in our field as well as their commitment," says Ritva Vapalahti, director of application development at Fennia.

Together with Fennia's specialists, the HiQ experts updated Fennia's strategy for testing as well as common operational models. In addition to the testing services, HiQ strengthens Fennia's internal quality assurance skills.

"HiQ has vast experience from the financial industry, and our experts bring both technical know-how and innovative power to our clients. This is an important partnership for us and we eagerly await to continue using our knowledge and experience to simplify everyday life for both the employees and customers of Fennia," says Jukka Rautio, Managing Director of HiQ in Finland.

During the last years, HiQ has developed several significant services within the finance and insurance segment. A couple examples are the mobile payment service Swish and the mobile banking service S-mobiili.

"What we have learned during HiQ's first 20 years is that simplicity always wins in the long run. Focusing on simplicity creates real value for the users. That is the key for our leading position within, for example, the financial segment," Lars Stugemo, President and CEO at HiQ, concludes.

Fennia Mutual Insurance Company is owned by its clients and has vast experience in risk management and in underwriting non-life insurance for business clients. The company is a part of the Fennia Group, that provides various risk management and insurance services for enterprises, their personnel, entrepreneurs and private households, as well as flexible client financing solutions.

Earlier this year, HiQ acquired Headlight Group, consisting of Headlight and Relight. This acquisition is an important part of HiQ’s expansion journey and will bring new job opportunities to the cities of Västerås, Örebro and Borlänge due to the great recruitment need. The news comes just weeks after the acquisition was announced and is an important part of HiQ’s effort to become Northern Europe’s leading tech consulting firm.

– We’re so excited to be expanding to Borlänge and in the cities of Örebro and Västerås! This merger enables us to expand further in the Swedish market and bring new jobs to all three cities while also affording us the opportunity to work together with companies in these areas. HiQ & BatteryLoop develop more efficient charging infrastructure

BatteryLoop, a company which gives electric car batteries a second life as energy storage systems, launched an energy storage system in the spring of 2021 which makes it possible, among other things, to build charging infrastructure in places where the electricity grid suffers power shortages. In collaboration with HiQ, BatteryLoop is now developing a digital platform that makes it possible to maximize power in the charging infrastructure. The digital platform enables an estimate as to how long a battery has left to live, thus its economic value in a circular business model.

– It is fantastic that our team is joining BatteryLoop on this journey. Circular business models and sustainability are important to us at HiQ, and it really shows with this project. There is an incredible amount to do to streamline the use of energy in society and this solution is an important contribution to that process, says Sven Ivar Mørch, CEO of HiQ.
