HiQ in collaboration with major pension insurer Varma

HiQ helps Varma to simplify working capacity management, by developing new web services. Varma is the largest earnings-related pension insurer and private investor in Finland.

HiQ was chosen as a partner for its know-how and flexibility. The collaboration covers IT services all the way from concept development to service management.

“Working capacity management is a goal-oriented and company strategy supporting activity. At Varma, we understand and foresee our customers’ needs, and we offer innovative tools and advance information regarding working capacity administration. In this project, we wanted a partner with knowledge in design and usability as well as technical realisation,” says Johanna Kemppinen, Head of Development at Varma.

During the last years, HiQ has strengthened its position as a leading IT partner within the finance industry in the Nordic region. HiQ has created many outstanding services in this area, for both enterprises and private individuals. For example, HiQ has developed the mobile payment solution Swish and the S Group’s mobile bank service S-mobiili. With the Varma project HiQ broadens its operations in the finance and insurance area.

“The importance of working capacity management is growing in all industries and with the right digital services we can simplify the workers’ everyday life. We have been looking forward to this collaboration and we are proud of Varma’s confidence. We can’t wait to provide our broad expertise and experience, to improve for Varma’s employees and customers,” says Jukka Rautio, Managing Director of HiQ Finland.

HiQ & BatteryLoop develop more efficient charging infrastructure

BatteryLoop, a company which gives electric car batteries a second life as energy storage systems, launched an energy storage system in the spring of 2021 which makes it possible, among other things, to build charging infrastructure in places where the electricity grid suffers power shortages. In collaboration with HiQ, BatteryLoop is now developing a digital platform that makes it possible to maximize power in the charging infrastructure. The digital platform enables an estimate as to how long a battery has left to live, thus its economic value in a circular business model.

– It is fantastic that our team is joining BatteryLoop on this journey. Circular business models and sustainability are important to us at HiQ, and it really shows with this project. There is an incredible amount to do to streamline the use of energy in society and this solution is an important contribution to that process, says Sven Ivar Mørch, CEO of HiQ.
