HiQ simplifies internal communication for Kuusakoski

HiQ improves the efficiency at Kuusakoski Group, the largest industrial recycling company in Northern Europe. The new intranet that HiQ delivers simplifies internal communication in Kuusakoski’s multi-cultural business environment.

The project utilizes the latest cloud technologies, and is one of the first of its kind in Finland.

“In the last few years, our business environment has undergone significant changes that have further internationalised and expanded the group operations. We were looking for a single technological solution that would support using the best practices throughout the group, while taking into account the special needs of different local offices”, says Risto Pohjanpalo, Director of Community Relations at Kuusakoski.

“We wanted to find a proactive partner that would meet the prerequisites of long-term collaboration so that we could focus on our core business while the partner would support adapting the system to the changing business needs”, Pohjanpalo adds.

Productivity requirements, coping with workload, and technological developments change the way we work. In recent years, HiQ has delivered a number of extensive projects involving intranet systems and service conceptualization, which have enabled organisations to reshape and improve both the tools and the practices they use in their work. One example being Kuusakoski’s NETitse Recycling Service, which was selected as the best ICT project of 2011.

“Our common goal was to create the optimal intranet solution for individual users as well as the entire group. By utilising our expertise in technology and user experience we can simplify for Kuusakoski’s employees and help them to spend less time on looking for information and more on productive work,” says Jukka Rautio, Managing Director of HiQ Finland.

“HiQ and Kuusakoski have had a good partnership for many years, based on our mutual interest in simplifying people’s lives. We are glad to be able to benefit Kuusakoski even more extensively with our expertise,” says Lars Stugemo, President and CEO of HiQ.

Kuusakoski Oy is the leading industrial recycling company in Northern Europe and a supplier and refiner of recycled metals. The company has over 100 service locations globally, some 20 of which are found in Finland. Kuusakoski also operates in Russia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, China, Taiwan, Denmark, and the United States.
