HiQ develops simulator for Land Systems Hägglunds

HiQ has developed a simulator for the CV9030 CH combat vehicle. The training equipment is destined for the Swiss army, which is the end
customer. Technical personnel receives training in dealing with situations that require technical maintenance, e.g. when faults arise in the vehicle’s electrical systems.

HiQ has specialist knowledge of simulation technology as well as experience of the development of embedded computer networks. Project management and customisation of a military development process is also important factors in its success.  In this assignment HiQ was responsible for a number of interesting problem areas such as reuse and modification of systems architecture for a simulator platform, development of simulation models for embedded computer systems and integration via networks with the trainer’s graphical user interface.

HiQ’s input allowed the part of the vehicle’s hardware that is not included in the training equipment to be replaced by a simulator. As a result, the trainer acts like a complete vehicle with the bonus effect that parameters in the vehicle’s electronic systems can be easily controlled, increasing its value to the end customer.
