HiQ helps De Lotto to develop a new gaming concept
De Lotto is the Dutch state lottery with products like betting, Lotto, Keno and scratch cards. HiQ has been working on the development of an Interactive Gaming System for De Lotto since 2002. This means that gaming products such as sports betting, Lotto and Keno are now available on the Internet for registered Dutch customers.
Webshop is an innovative marketing concept developed by De Lotto. "The Shop" is an interactive gaming site customised for De Lotto's partner companies. De Lotto's Interactive Gaming System runs in the background, but the website both looks like and is perceived as the partner's own. The Webshop launch is often supplemented with an advertising campaign in which the partner's customers get some free games. Examples of recently launched Webshops:
* Shell customers get a coupon when they fill their tank at a Shell petrol station. The coupon contains a code that the customer enters on Shell's Webshop site, which gives them one or two Lucky Days (a Keno-like game) free.
* Wehkamp is a big Dutch mail order firm. When customers buy products from its website they receive an e-mail with a link to Wehkamp's Webshop. By clicking the link, the customer can play Lotto for free.
* KrasStervakanties is a Dutch travel agency. Anyone buying a holiday on KrasStervakanties' website is sent an e-mail with a link to the company's Webshop. By clicking the link, the customer can play Lotto for free at KrasStervakanties' Webshop.
HiQ developed the platform for Webshop which allows De Lotto and its partners to launch secure and reliable Webshops at low cost. The Webshop Platform is based on Open Source components and XHTML technology, which makes it easier to customise the user interface for the different Webshop campaigns.
