ZeniFire – a matter of life or death
Thanks to the collaboration between Zenitel and HiQ the Danish fire brigade can now respond even quicker than before!
In a situation where every minute could be the difference between life and death, it is crucial that as little time as possible is spent on administration and that information about the scene of the accident is available immediately. That is why ZeniFire was developed, an application that can be downloaded to any PC – including the mobile units in rescue vehicles. The program has functions such as automatic data collection and reporting, safe navigation to the accident site, an electronically controlled camera and a user friendly graphical user interface. HiQ was, among other things, responsible for specifying the platform for the solution and starting up the project.
- We would never have been able to develop ZeniFire without HiQs aid. Their consultants added the expertise that we needed, and have been a very productive communication partner in the project. HiQ has been a great advisor on the subject of our current development processes. Their knowledge has contributed a great deal to the architectural design for ZeniFire and implementing SCRUM. SCRUM is nowadays a part of our overall developing process, says Ole Haslund, Product & Engineering Manager at Zenitel Denmark.
Zenifire gives the rescue vehicle detailed directions to the accident site on a screen and through voice navigation. The arrival time is logged automatically. At the site the rescue personnel are given the latest updated information about the building, such as entrances, fire posts, possible occurrence of toxic chemicals etc. The IP camera mounted on top of the fire truck scans the place and creates a basis for the report. Administration and time spent on the final report is minimal and resources can instead be directed to where they are needed most – to save lives.
Zenitel Denmark A/S designs and integrates individual communication solutions for everyday use. They supply solutions for i.e. the rescue service, public transport and the defense.
